  • My Camera

I currently shoot using a Canon EOS R8 as my primary camera. It is light and compact so perfect for travelling and keeping a minimal camera kit.

The 24.2MP sensor is more than enough for most use cases.

In my opinion this is the perfect entry point into a mirrorless, full-frame, camera system.

  • Great First Lens

If you’re looking to make an entry into photography and are unsure of what lens to get first, I would highly recommend a 50mm f/1.8 or “Nifty-Fifty”.

A lot of manufacturers produce their own version of this versatile lens. The wide aperture is great for portraits and low light shooting and the 50mm focal length is very versatile for portraiture, travel, landscapes and more.

All around a perfect entry point at an affordable price.

  • My Telephoto Pick

The Canon RF 70-200mm f/4 is, in my mind, the ideal telephoto lens. The new RF format means the lens is much smaller than its EF predecessor and 70-200 is a very versatile range.

This lens is available in an f/2.8 variant but for almost half the price the f/4 version is more than a great deal! I would only consider the f/2.8 version if you were desperate for extreme bokeh or shooting in low light.

Paired with the EOS R8 it really does take some fantastic photos.

  • Perfect Drone

If you are looking to get into drone shooting then the DJI Mini 4 Pro is perfect.

Its total weight is less than 250g so does not require any certifications meaning it can be flown a lot more freely.

It can shoot 4k video in both horizontal and vertical format meaning it is perfect for creating b-roll and short form content.

Available in the ‘Fly More Pack’ you get 2 extra batteries and a carrying case making it easy to transport and with no worries about running out of battery. It can also be charged via USB-C so paired with the anker powerbank below you can easily get a whole day of shooting.

  • Portable Power

While out and about taking photos the last thing you want to worry about is running out of battery.

I carry this battery pack everywhere I go. It is USB-C so can charge my camera and my phone and having 20,000 mAh capacity is plenty for a day of shooting. (It will even charge a laptop due to the 200w output)

  • Perfect Travel Tripod

This Vanguard tripod is compact and lightweight which makes it perfect for travelling.

I always think that its best to carry a tripod as you’re never sure when you might need it but people are often put off by the size and weight which is why this one is perfect.

It comes with a carrying case and is a very affordable price.

  • The Best SD Cards

ProGrade cards are the best in the business. This one has incredibly fast processing, reading and write speeds which makes it perfect for modern mirrorless cameras.

It’s available in a range of capacities and is the perfect choice for all your shooting needs both photo and video.
